If you really know me, then you probably know that I’m a HUGE fan of the Rocky movies. With the release of Creed, the spinoff starring Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed, only a few weeks away, my Binge Media brother, Garrett Collins, decided he wanted to do a new podcast series chronicling the entire set of films, and who better to bring in than…..well, me.

If you’re not familiar with Garrett, he’s been with Binge Media for a little over a year now, and he’s one of the most knowledgeable people in the film industry, and I honestly don’t say that just because we work together on the site. For one, he’s actually in the business, but that’s not even the real point. The way he breaks down films is extraordinary, and he’s seriously one of the only reviewers that I read these days, simply because he’s one of the few out there that can write a review without giving things away. Not only does he write reviews, but he’s also the host of one of the best shows on the network, The Binge Movie Aftertaste, and he’s had some great guests on his show before; hell, he interviewed the writer of Jaws for God’s sake, so yeah, it’s not just some random show.

So when he asked me to do this series a few months ago, I immediately agreed to do it, and we’ve both been chomping at the bit to start this thing, and it’s finally here. When we were first talking about the format, he had broken it up into two shows. For part one, we would talk about the first three movies and then do the next three for part two. Simple enough, right? Well, when we started recording last week, we got through talking about the first movie before taking a break and realized that two shows wouldn’t be enough. We got into so much detail that we’ve decided to make this a three-part series, and we’ll break down two movies at a time, with this first one covering Rocky (my favorite movie of all-time) and Rocky II.

On a quick note before I give you the link to the first show, I must say how much I enjoyed doing this. Hell, I felt bad because I thought that I was talking too much and wrecking Garrett’s show, but it’s just what talking about this franchise does to me. It means so much to me on a personal level, which you’ll hear in the show, so I can’t thank Garrett enough for letting me come on and talk about this amazing franchise, and as soon as I can get past this damn flu, I can’t wait to get started on part two.
